'O Pitta Katha' Already On Amazon Prime
By: Tupaki Desk | 17 March 2020 9:30 AM GMTThe film 'O Pitta Katha' appeared in the OTT platform, Amazon Prime just after release. The movie was released on March 6th and literally it's been only 10 days. In this short span, the movie was allowed to stream on the OTT platform by its producers only to save a few bucks. It is ok for the producers to do so as the film became a disaster at the Box Office.
'O Pitta Katha' starred Sanjay Rao and the son of seasoned actor Brahmaji. Several bigwigs of Tollywood including Trivikram and Megastar Chiranjeevi promoted the film but couldn't save it from becoming a disaster. The other reason is the Corona breakout and Tollywood shutdown that lead the producer to lose hopes on its theatrical run and thus allowed the OTT platform Amazon Prime to stream it without any time-bound.
Generally, producers sign a time-bound contract with the streaming platforms like 4 weeks or 50 days to an extent that could save a film's theatrical run. Producers sometimes can't judge their product and give a less time-bound for their hit films causing a dent in the revenue of the film and successful theatrical run!
If this OTT trend continues like this there is a threat for theaters business. Producers, Be On caution!
