The longest-serving monarch in British history Queen Elizabeth II ,who served as the queen of the United Kingdom breathed her last the other day. The royal family announced the sad news with a lot of grief. She was 96 when he passed away. Her son took over the post after her demise.

After her demise, a few interesting things about Queen Elizabeth II are coming out. Very few people know that her highness visited India a few times and she even graced the launch event of a film which started with a lot of buzz. The pictures are now doing rounds on social media.

Going into detail, Universal hero Kamal Haasan who brought many groundbreaking films in his illustrious career planned a high-ticket film titled Marudhanayagam, a celebrated freedom fighter. The film was planned in the 90s and Queen Elizabeth II graced the event and launched the film. The viral pictures show Kamal Haasan in the attire of a freedom fighter.

Team Marudhanayagam had the opportunity to have Queen on the sets for around 20 minutes and a special video of the film was screened for her. The then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and several big personalities shared the event.

Though the film has the record of seeing the former Queen of England as a chief guest at the launch event, the film was not made due to various issues. It is said that the budget that was fixed for the film was very big at that time and that might be the reason behind the film not hitting the floors.

It would have been a good memory for the team if the film was made as they can remember the Queen on the occasion. Unfortunately, the budget issues reportedly resulted in the film not getting commenced.

Kamal Haasan gave his heart and soul to the film and spend around six years finishing the script. Despite all this, the film is based on the 18th-century freedom fighter Maruthanayagam Pillai. Kamal Haasan tried to bring the film back on track. A couple of years back, Kamal Haasan said he cannot act in the dream project due to his age.
