Several factors determine the pre-release business of a film. Track record, combinations, right business strategy can take the pre-release business to the next level. Akkineni Nagarjuna's upcoming film Om Namo Venkatesaya(ONV) has done it. According to the latest reports, ONV said to have done a pre-release business of whopping 48 crore.Theatrical rights reportedly fetched more than 35 crore for the film makers. Satellite rights fetched another 12.5 crores.
We have to admit that 48 crore is a huge figure for ONV as the movie first look, trailer did not evoke much interest among the audience. There is criticism on the film makers that they are making another 'Annamayya' going by Nagarjuna getup, outdated graphics in the trailer.
But Nag's hattick hits, Nag- KRR -Keeravani combo said to have played the key role in the pre-release business. On the other hand, the distributors are confident of recovering their money if the films gets even average talk, as the movie is made on Lord Venkateswara. What a strategy... Om Namo Nagarjuna !
