Only six of 16 T ministers are Telangana warriors

With one of the founding fathers of the TRS, Etela Rajender falling out with KCR, a debate has arisen in the political circles about the fate of the “original” TRS members. Only six of the 16 ministers in the TRS government are those who fought during the Telangana movement. The remaining have not just fought KCR but even opposed the Telangana government.

Harish Rao, Koppula Eshwar, Niranjan Reddy, Prashanth Reddy, KT Rama Rao and Jagadeshwar Reddy are the only ministers who had been in the forefront of the movement. Even among them, KTR had joined the party only in 2009, Prior to that he was abroad working in the software industry. Ministers like Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Gangula Kamalakar were TDP leaders, who had staunchly opposed the criticised KCR. Puvvada Ajay too was a well known critic of KCR. He had been in CPI, Congress and the YSRCP before joining the TRS. Minister Indrakaran Reddy had been in the TDP and the Congress. But, when he joined the TRS, he was in the BSP. While Sabitha Indra Reddy is from the Congress, Satyavathi Rathod is from the TDP.

Take the case of Mahmood Ali. He has no history of working in the Telangana movement.  Minister Srinivas Goud, an employees leader, was in the Congress, when he joined the TRS. He left the Congress because it did not give him party ticket.
