'Oopiri' collected close to Rs 45 crore by the end of 17 days run. It almost equal to the final total as we can't any film to collect huge shares after the first two weeks.

Made with a budget of around Rs 60 crore, 'Oopiri' manages to attain only Above Average status so far inspite of fantastic reviews and terrific word-of-mouth. Collecting over Rs 47 crore would have fetched a hit status. The film emerged as Nagarjuna's highest grosser in USA and its the only film to collect $1.5 million in this territory.

Trade Circles say, Tamil version 'Thozha' could have performed much better as Karthi played one of the leads in the movie. Neverthless, 'Oopiri' will always be seen as a landmark film in the history of Southern Cinema.
