OTTs Feeling The Heat To Boost Up Revenue
By: Tupaki Desk | 11 Jun 2020 7:38 AM GMTThe ongoing pandemic has left us all in a crisis. The demand for content on TV, OTTs has surged double the need and all the platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney Hotstar are desperately adding content to help their audience.
Even after these many efforts, demand for content is not ending and that's where the OTTs are running back of producers.
In Bollywood, almost all the small films have released on Amazon Prime recently. The sudden break time has left the producers of the film just with one option and that is- sell it to OTT!
Recently Amazon has lined up too many films for World premieres directly without the theatrical release. Netflix too has done the same but bit selective about films and their bond with production houses.
The trend shows that Amazon Prime has allocated budget 20% more and is now feeling the stress of non returning revenue as the platform is based on subscriptions alone. In the break time the subscriptions went high but started going down as the World is now free from crisis day to day but is constantly targeting Indian Movies to stand the competition in OTT space.
