'Padmaavat' is the most controversial film in the recent past. Karni Sena and other Hindu Groups have been objecting the period drama alleging distortion of the facts. Citing the law & order issue, Governments of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh imposed a ban on the release of this Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial.

After obtaining clearance from CBFC, January 25th has been fixed as the release slot for 'Padmaavat'. Producers have now approached Supreme Court against the ban in four states. Justice Deepak Mishra accepted the petition and it is likely to come up for hearing on Thursday.

In the past, Films which were banned by State Governments have been released after Supreme Court's order. Padmavaat Producers are hopeful of receiving a positive result.

Already, Goa Police suggested Manohar Parrikar-led Government not to allow the screening of 'Padmaavat'. There were even reports of UP and Himachal Pradesh Governments considering the ban. If SC doesn't lift the ban, Few more states wouldn't allow the screening of the Bollywood Biggie.
