'Pelli Choopulu' Ended Up As A Flop

'Pelli Choopulu' movie starring Vijay Devarakonda and Ritu Varma became a blockbuster in Telugu. Tharun Bhascker directed this movie. Now, the same movie is remade in Hindi as 'Mitron' with Jacky Bhagnani in the lead role.
The movie hit the screens on Friday but had a slow start and collected Rs. 50 lakhs net on day 1 all over India and failed to show any growth during the weekend as well. The Bollywood critics slammed 'Mitron' pointing its weak plot and failed humour. It is a known fact that 'Pelli Choopulu' became a blockbuster in Telugu and acted as a turning point for Vijay Devarakonda and Ritu Varma. But the Hindi versions director and the lead actor failed to repeat the same magic at the Bollywood box office. We have seen so many blockbuster movies in Telugu which failed at other languages box office and 'Pelli Choopulu' also joined this list.
After 'Pelli Choopulu' became a smash hit, Gautham Menon took the remake rights in Tamil. But, the movie was kept on hold as the lead actor Vishnu Vishal opted out of the project.
