Prakash Raj bought the remake rights of Malayalam film, Salt and Pepper. He did direct the film in Kannada and Telugu.
Movie became a considerable hit in Kannada but Ulavacharu Biriyani failed in Telugu. In Hindi, he did the same as Tadka.
Tapsee Pannu, Ali Faisal, Shriya Saran and Nana Patekar are playing the lead roles. Movie is produced by Jitesh Verma and Zee Studios.
Prakash Raj took a stay on movie release as he is asking for a share in profits as original rights holders. The actual contract did not include him and only Verma, Zee Studios hold stakes.
Now, Zee Studios issued notices against him through Bombay High Court. He had to appear in front of the court and also help the studios to arrive on an agreement.
The movie had to release in 2017 but it is taking time and getting delayed due to this issue.
