Praveen Sattaru Comments On Censor Board

National award-winning film Chandamama Kathalu director Praveen Sattaru has run into controversy during the time of Chandamama Kathalu and yet again he is named under another controversy now. Apparently, the director has fired on the review writers during the time of Chandamama Kathalu and now he has vent out his anger on the censor board officials. The director felt that the censor board is curbing the freedom of the filmmakers.
"They wanted us not to show any minister doing wrong in the film and any police officer or any government officer doing something opposite of what they are assigned to do. If it is the case, we can't make films. If the same censor board would existed during olden days, the films like Vandemataram and Prathigatana would not have made their way into the theatres. The common audiences should raise their voice against the same.
Censor board has given us U/A certificate and I was shocked about the same. We have made the film without any violence and expected a U but it did not happen. The actual freedom in filmmaking existed during 1970's and 1980's only. In the current days. we are made to think 10 times before tweeting something. India is a democratic country and we should have the right to speech in the proper manner." Said Praveen Sattaru.
