Day 1 collection: Salman breaks own record

Salman Khan's latest film under Sooraj Barjatya's direction, "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" released the other day amidst huge expectation. And with the film being released in 4500+ screens in India alone, it managed to break Salman's own record.
"Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" grossed 40.35 Crores on opening day in India alone, thereby beating Salman Khanâs last movie 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', which released on July 17, had grossed Rs. 27.25 crores on the opening day.
Shah Rukh Khan's "Happy New Year", which earned 44.97 Cr on the opening day stands the No.1 grosser on Day One.
