Producers Are Losing Money On Dubbed Films

Tamil dubbed films used to have a good market in Telugu. But the situation has been completely changed in the past few months. Except for Vishal's 'Abhimanyudu', none of the Tamil dubbed films clicked at the box office. We can understand the situation as no buyer came forward to buy a film like 'Kaala'.
Heroes like Vikram, Suriya, Karthi used to enjoy good following but none of their films bringing profits to the buyers. Karthi's recent release 'Chinna Babu' also turned out to be a disappointment.
Though everybody says that Rajinikanth is a Superstar, his films are literally turning out to be nightmares for the Telugu audience and distributors. Vijay Antony achieved a wonderful market with 'Bichagadu' but his market has vanished with continuous duds.
There are films like Nayanthara's 'Karthavyam' which has received good appreciation but they are unable to recover the investment. If we take the last six months, 30 dubbed films from Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam released but 'Abhimanyudu' is the only hit.
Considering the situation, the buyers are literally scared with the upcoming biggie '2.0' directed by Shankar because of the high investment. It is interesting to see how Rajinikanth-Shankar is going to do with '2.0'.
