Producers To Press on Heroines' Remuneration in Tollywood?
By: Tupaki Desk | 24 Aug 2022 6:35 AM GMTThe long-pending issues which are troubling Tollywood have brought the industry to a standstill. It's been more than three weeks since the shootings were halted as the Producers Guild stopped the shootings from the 1st of this month. To get time to address the issues, the producers took the time.
Amid this, The Producers' Council and Film Chamber called for a key meeting the other day. After the meeting, the producers reportedly came up with a decision to resume the shootings from the 1st of next month. The producers from various bodies supported the decision reportedly.
As almost every issue found an answer the producers took the decision. The meeting saw the producers discussing various issues, including the big remunerations taken by the actors.
Reports say that the producers discussed the Heroines' remunerations row and various issues related to that. Though there is no information on what decision the producers took at the much-talked-about meeting, reports say that the members discussed the issue extensively.
At regular intervals, we hear stories that leading beauties are throwing tantrums while taking the remunerations. Besides the massive remunerations, the heroines are also painting the expenses of their staff and helpers reportedly adding trouble to producers.
Recently we heard that a happening beauty stunned a producer by asking to book a ticket for her pet dog as she is missing her pet. With no option left the producer purchased a ticket that cost as much as a normal flight ticket. As the heroine is scoring back-to-back hits, makers are showing interest to cast her and she is throwing tantrums.
The treatment heroines get changed over time. Back then when producers like Movie Mughal Ramanaidu produced films they used to be very strict on money matters. If the staff and helpers had to get the tickets, then the money would be deducted from the heroine's remuneration.
Producers used to give remuneration like a package including the expenses of her staff. But the trend has changed and producers are finding it difficult to cope with the costs. Looks like there is a need to follow the old producers' style.
