By: Tupaki Desk | 13 Dec 2016 4:08 PM GMT'Khadgam' was a huge break for Comedian Pruthvi. He became very popular as '30 Years Pruthvi' since then and offers kepis coming his way. In a recent interview, The Star Comedian revealed the story behind his life-changing character.
Pruthvi: 'I played the role of Rao Gopal Rao's nephew in 'Aa Okkati Adakku'. But, It didn't fetch me any offers. I kept meeting Co-Directors and Production Managers for offers. Some of the blink n miss roles didn't fetch me due recognition. I went into depression after mother's death. I approached Krishna Vamsi during 'Sindooram' and played a naxalite role. Later, I had acted in 'Chandralekha' and 'Samudram'. When Krishna Vamsi was about to shoot 'Khadgam', I asked him to offer a good role to help me establish myself in the Industry. I thought he would offer Me a serious character. But, He offered me the role of an Actor who can't even say his dialogues properly. I didn't have much faith in it. But, Krishna Vamsi assured that People would talk about the role after the release. That film changed my life completely. That's how I became '30 Years Pruthvi'!'.
Currently, Pruthvi is one of the leading comedians in Telugu Film Industry. Some of his best performances could be seen in 'Atharintiki Daredi', 'Loukyam' and 'Bengal Tiger'.
