Legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan – 1' is one of the biggest films made in South India. Based on the novel written by legendary Kalki Krishnamurthy with the same title. It is the 'Roja' director's dream project. After trying to give a visual form for this popular novel for the past three decades, Mani Ratnam finally managed to make it. The first part of 'Ponniyin Selvan' is released on September 30th September.

The movie opened to mixed reviews all over the country barring Tamil Nadu. The Tamilians embraced the movie with open arms due to their emotional attachment to their history. The regular audience were not that impressed and pointed out a few flaws while the Tamil crowd defended their historic film. Keeping all the issues aside, the movie reportedly earned 400 crores at the box office and has been termed as a super hit.

Since a majority of the second part has been shot already, people expected it to get released soon. The makers have now released a special first look video announcing that the much-awaited 'PS – 2' will be hitting the big screens worldwide on April 28th, 2023. This is making the fans very excited. They even gave us a glimpse of the main characters in this film played by Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

The teaser definitely raises the expectations heavily on the second part of this magnum opus. Let us see if 'PS – 2' impresses the regular audience as well or not.

Academy award winner AR Rahman composed the music for this movie. Produced under Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies banners, the cast of the film includes Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R Parthiban. Ravi Varman is the director of photography while Sreekar Prasad is the editor. The action was composed by Kecha Khamphakdee, Sham Kaushal & Dhilip Subbarayan.
