Puri Planning To Repay The Buyers Of 'Liger'!
By: Tupaki Desk | 1 Sep 2022 11:51 AMIt is not every day that you witness a dynamic director like Puri Jagannadh deliver such a lackluster film like 'Liger'. Though Puri hasn't delivered many hits in recent times, his movies always have something special in them and that is what went missing in 'Liger'. His own fans are so disappointed with the director's work in this film and Vijay's fans are severely heartbroken after watching the film.
With the collections dropping drastically from the second day, the buyers are now staring at massive losses. The theatres playing 'Liger' are completely empty and there are no signs of the film picking up from here. Both Puri and Vijay expected the film to do very well and sounded too confident before the release but the situation is completely different now. As we know, Warangal Srinu bought the Nizam rights and he is set to face a huge loss. With a few buyers in the Andhra region getting the film on an advance basis, Puri Jagannadh and team will have to return those advances as per reports.
News is that Dil Raju and NV Prasad had a discussion with Puri Jagannadh regarding this and the 'Pokiri' director will be having a meeting with buyers during the next week. Reports claim that he will return back the money to the buyers who released on an advance basis. Grapevine suggests that Puri & Co managed to bag 60 crores as profits through theatrical business before the release and they are reportedly going to shell it out to compensate the buyers. While 'Liger' may not be a loss venture to producer Puri Jagannadh, it definitely didn't fetch him profits now. Speaking about the director Puri Jagannadh, 'Liger' has definitely damaged his image and reputation.
Vijay and Puri have already started 'Jana Gana Mana'. The first schedule has been wrapped up before the release of 'Liger' and this movie is said to be Puri's dream project. We need to see what happens to 'Jana Gana Mana' after the disastrous result of 'Liger'.
