'Pushpa' Disappoints Heavily In Terms Of 'Sound' Issues!
By: Tupaki Desk | 18 Dec 2021 7:25 AM GMTThe combination of Sukumar-Allu Arjun-DSP who delivered evergreen hits like 'Arya' and 'Arya 2' in the past came together for a massy action entertainer titled 'Pushpa'. The makers decided to split the story into two parts and released âPushpa â The Rise' on 17th December. Thanks to the huge expectations, the film opened to packed theatres on Friday and the hungama is going to continue for the next few days. It was the biggest release in recent times and people were eager to watch this film on the big screens.
Allu Arjun is being praised deservingly for his phenomenal portrayal of 'Pushparaj' in this pan-Indian movie but it is Sukumar and DSP who are facing the heat. Sukumar is getting bashed for his slow narration in the second half and leaving everything for the second part. On the other hand, Devi Sri Prasad gave super hit tunes which are already ruling the charts but his background music left a lot to be desired. People are dissatisfied with his work and they are not even happy with the sound mixing. The producers brought in Oscar winner Resul Pookutty to work on the sound department but it is what bothered the audience the most.
It has to be said that most of the blame for criticism faced by Devi Sri Prasad and the sound mixing department has to go to director Sukumar as per many. The production was going on till one week before the release which left the technicians with such a short time to focus on the post-production works. As we can see, the quality of BGM and sound mixing took a toll on the viewing experience of movie lovers. Sukumar and DSP themselves said that they were working till the very last moment on sound mixing and other post-production works. They both missed the pre-release event too as they were completely busy with work.
The audience are demanding the team to rework on the sound mixing to make the film more appealing. A reviewer wrote, âWho has not watched 'Pushpa' yet, please watch it only after the sound mixing is redone. As of now, the bgm part is one of the biggest minuses for the movie.â Another netizen stated, ":Devi Sri Prasad had only a few days for the music and hence this mediocre output. I wish he had done better."
It is not just the music but the color grading too wasn't perfect in a few scenes. Even the CGI work too felt a bit odd in a lot of scenes which shows how hurriedly the team of 'Pushpa' wrapped by the post-production works.
