What Is The Use Of This Strike?

R. Narayana Murthy, is known for his towering personality that stood against the conventional cinema. He made films that he believed a good cinema is with big ideas.
He is highly respected for being sensitive to everyone and also blasting others who, in his view, could be wrong.
He is one man who is happy to run against the tide and never tried to be one of the others who do not really agree with him.
Tollywood exhibitors shut down the theatres for a week from 2nd March to 9th March. Producers, Distributors and Exhibitors, formed a JAC, Joint Action Committee under Telugu and Telangana Chamber of Commerce Cinema, against Digital Service Providers and asked them to reduce the rents and VPF.
But the new rates did not appeal to many but they remained silent as they don't have enough know-how or strength to strongly put their word in front of big producers.
R. Narayana Murthy in his own way blasted against the committee and their decisions. He said, "What is the use of this strike? VPF had to be decreased by 75% but we got just a nominal 2,000 discount. The problems still prevail and the producers should have fought hard to get even better deal that will mostly benefit cinema. We need a system or tariff where the VPF is no longer quoted by DSPs."
He also said that strike is the biggest way of protest and they just made it spineless. He asked when Kannada Cinema Industry, Tamil Cinema Industry are still able to fight, why not Telugu Cinema?
He opined that to make way for big films the producers made a criminal plan and chose wrong timing that would hurt small cinemas those were looking for March release by announcing strike in that month and then, not making any effort to get better deal. He requested all producers to not load their content until every demand is met.
