Why Narayana Murthy declined Temper offer?

Director Puri Jagan has revealed many times that he has actually written the role of constable Murthy for R Narayana Murthy and when he declined to do it, he has gone to Posani Krishnamurali. The role won applause in theatres.
Speaking to media, Mr Murthy explained why he declined this role. "Actually I rose to this position of a hero after working as Jr artist then as supporting role player. Why would step down from my position and do this supporting role again? I can't do it" said Narayana Murthy.
Those who heard this felt like Narayana Murthy still runs with the same 'ego' he had during his prime.
