Small and medium budget filmmakers never eye on Sankranthi season for the reasons best known to all of us. When a big ticket film gets a hit talk, the competition films will be washed away without a trace. When Pawan and Balayya films were announced for Sankranthi release, no other filmmaker was ready to release their films in the Sankranthi season. Everybody gave way to Pawan's highly anticipated 'Agnyaathavaasi' and postponed their releases.
Suriya film 'Gang' slated for release because they have the backup of UV Creations. The surprise entry for Sankranthi is undoubtedly Raj Tarun's 'Rangula Ratnam' produced by Akkineni Nagarjuna. Out of these four Sankranthi releases, three films released and everybody knows the result and none of them are in a position to cash on the Sankranthi holiday season advantage. All the eyes are on Raj Tarun's film 'Rangula Ratnam' now. It is hitting the screens on January 14.
Raj Tarun's film is made with just Rs. 5 crore budget so the asking rate is very low. If the movie gets positive talk, it has every chance of becoming a Sankranthi winner. The promos have already impressed the youth and Raj Tarun has a golden opportunity to score a super hit. We have to wait and see whether he will utilise the opportunity or not.
