Superstar Rajnikanth, earlier announced that his film, 2.0 will release in Summer and only, after its release, Kaala will release. But that plan had to be scrapped and Kaala, is scheduled for a release on 27th April, 2.0 date.
The media reports from Chennai suggest that the actor is behind this decision to release Kaala, as 2.0 will take few more months to complete the post production works.
According to the reports coming in, Shankar and Lyca Productions, are in a cold war regarding the delay in the movie release. While the director wants to spend as much time and energy as he can to bring the best possible output, Lyca Productions, want to release the movie as early as possible.
The delay in the post production would mean, shelling out extra amounts for VFX works and that will increase already huge budget of the film, further.
Also, a certain release date will help them market the film better and with delays, if people lose interest, then it would be even bigger problem. But Shankar is in no mood to heed to such requests as he wants this film, 2.0, to be a never before experience for fans and film lovers.
So, to end the cold war and give Shankar time to complete his magnum opus, Rajnikanth decided to release, Kaala before and on the scheduled date. This will keep his fans engaged and also, if the movie succeeds, will boost, 2.0 market too.
