Rajnikanth did promise a huge box office success with Kabali but the movie didn't turn out to be such success. Then, he did a movie called Kaala and even that did not become such a hit.
His long delayed Shankar's VFX bonanza, 2.0 released and did become a moderate hit for the budget and costs.
Now, everyone is looking at his third film in the space of a year, Petta releasing for Pongal. The story of the movie has been leaked and it goes like this,
Rajnikanth's name is Kali and he is from a village in Madurai. His wife is Trisha and brother Mallik (Sashi Kumar). Jithu (Vijay Sethupathi) and Singar Singh (Nawazuddin Siddique) take on the village and kill Kali's family.
Unable to comprehend the loss, for his brother's kids Kali leaves the place and waits for time to strike back. He finds the right time to attack using College politics.
As a warden he joins there and fights with Michael (Bobby Simha). Falls in love with Simran and tries to get his revenge.
Well, this is the story of Petta by Karthik Subbaraj who made Pizza and Jigarthanda, it seems. Well, he admitted that he is a Rajni fan and asked everyone to get #Rajnified. Can he deliver? Let's wait and see.
