Director blames Superstar for 'Betrayal'
By: Tupaki Desk | 25 Jan 2017 2:26 PM GMTBox Office clash of 'Raees' and 'Kaabil' has only brought a gap between Shahrukh Khan and Rakesh Roshan. Prior to the release, Rakesh Roshan has a meeting with Theatre Owners and even showed an hour of 'Kaabil' for them. He received an assurances of 50-50 ratio in theaters for 'Raees' & 'Kaabil'.
However, Rakesh Roshan got the shock of his life on the release day. While the screen sharing ratio was 55-45 in Multiplexes, It stood at 60-40 in the Single Screens. Which means, 'Raees' and 'Kaabil' received 2700 and 2200 screens respectively. Except in India, 50-50 ratio was maintained everywhere be it Dubai or London or Australia or New Zealand.
A disappointed Rakesh Roshan comments friendship isn't about shaking hands, putting a smile on face and kissing cheeks in front of media. When quizzed if he would watch 'Raees', The Filmmaker smiled and replied: 'I would watch Kaabil once again instead'.
Rakesh Roshan is the director of Shahrukh's one of biggest hits 'Karan Arjun' in the 90s. He now fears less no. of theaters would have an impact on revenues of 'Kaabil' despite great reviews.
