Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma issued a public apology for posting a tweet on veteran director K Balachander without cross-checking the reporting in circulation.
RGV: "My apologies for tweeting about Mr.Balachander without checking on the rumour. Wishing him a speedy recovery".
Yesterday, Ram Gopal Varma wrote: "Feeling sad for the passing away of K Balachander the only true maverick director of Indian cinema".
Soon, Ramu was floored with tweets and phone calls saying K Balachander is very much alive and undergoing treatment at Kauvery Hospital in Chennai. The director deleted the post but by that time it reached countless people. As a result, He issued a public apology to end the negative campaign against him.
