Ranveer & Co In Trouble As #Boycott83 Trends On Social Media!
By: Tupaki Desk | 24 Dec 2021 11:05 AM GMTBollywood crazy star hero Ranveer Singh is back in theatres after a big gap. He turned himself into legendary cricketer Kapil Dev for '83' which is a biopic of how the iconic world cup win. This interesting sports biopic is directed by Kabir Khan who made movies like 'Ek Tha Tiger', 'Bhajrangi Bhaijaan', 'Phantom' and others. The trailer created a huge impact and people who are unaware of this piece of history in Indian cricket were eager to watch it.
The film features a lot of noted actors as main leads while star actress Deepika Padukone will be seen as Kapil Dev's wife Romi. While the film is getting positive reviews from premiere shows, the makers have found themselves in a sudden spot of both.
Starting from Friday morning, '#Boycott83' is trending on Twitter and it has led to a lot of discussion. There are many reasons for this negative buzz arounf'83'. First and foremost, fans of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput decided to boycott this film showcasing how he made fun of Sushant in a special chips advertisement. They are trolling Ranveer in a bad way. There is also a demand that '83' should be completely banned. As we know, Deepika openly supported the student leaders at JNU and a lot of BJP related organizations have also joined this #Boycott83 trend. They are even claiming that heroes like Ranveer Singh had contacts with Pakistan-based extremists and he partied with them. They are even sharing videos of him spending time with them. Sushant fans are calling Bollywood 'Druggiewood' and they are asking everyone to stay away from this movie. Looks like Sushant's fans haven't cooled down.
