Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmaavat movie faced obstacles ever since its announcement. But after the release, the movie hasn't failed to garner the appreciation of not only the audience but also the celebrities. The sets which ooze out visual grandeur, outstanding performances by the cast, stunning dance moves and Bhansali's taking talent have greatly impressed the audience. More than the other actors, Ranveer Singh has given his career-best performance as Alauddin Khilji in the movie.

The critics even made comments that Ranveer's role as Alauddin Khilji will be remembered forever in the Bollywood history as the barbaric villain. The fans are claiming that no other actor can justify that role other than Ranveer. It seems like the Befikre actor's performance didn't go to waste because he won the most prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award. The award committee announced that they are going to present the award to Ranveer Singh for his memorable character in the movie.

Deepika Padukone played the title role whereas Shahid Kapoor acted as her husband Rawal Ratan. The collections of the movie grossed 300 crores at the box office. Padmaavat is recorded as the movie with highest collections in Ranveer's career and this Dada Saheb award is like a bonus for him. The Bollywood trade analysts are predicting that the movie is yet to sack some more awards.
