I predicted Rangasthalam Success - Ratnavelu

Ratnavelu the Cinematographer of films like Sethu, Arya, Jagadam, 1Nenokkadine, Kumari 21F, Robo worked for Rangasthalam. His work is being appreciated by many.
He talked about the movie in a recent interview. He said, "I believe a relationship between Director and Cinematographer should be like a married couple. Director and Cinematographer should understand the story and nrcessities of it. I tried to do that for every film and this one too.
"I and Sukumar, chatted about the story at coffee shops and other places. We were able to get new ideas and thoughts. There we decided to go back 30 years in time and pre-planned many things. I like the way Sukumar understands the craft and hence, we worked the most with each other.
"Sukumar, K.S. Ravi Kumar, Vinayak, Shankar have their own styles and as a cinematographer, I need to blend with them like water. After watching Robo, at editing table, I said this movie will be a Super hit to Shankar and he called Rajnikanth to share the same.
"Similarly, one week before release, I saw Rangasthalam, and said the movie will be a success and it is a wonder. Sukumar couldn't believe it. Devi Sri Prasad, Sukumar, Ram Charan Tej, Samantha, Ramakrishna and costume designers all gelled very well to create this wonder. I enjoyed performances of Naresh, Rohini, Jagapathi Babu and Adhi Pinisetty too. In fact, they took it to next level.
"Lip-lock scene is the most difficult one due to camera movements. I asked Samantha to not wear make-up and keep her hair muddy. She did the same but did not trust me on first day. She said she looked pretty on screen and thanked me on the third day of the shoot," concluded Ratnavelu
Ratnavelu is also working for Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy with Megastar Chiranjeevi.
