To Whom does the DJ openings credit go?

Duvvada Jagannadam has become the talking point over the weekend and on Eid holiday with mind blowing collections and director Harish Shankar tried to take the credit for it by indirectly faulting the reviews and critics for not understanding his film right. He tried to say his film is a good entertainer and revenues prove that.

Yes, the revenues were good during the weekend but that doesn't say that the movie is good. We have already established that DJ is the first biggie releasing after Baahubali 2 in Telugu Cinema and in such environment with a hero like Allu Arjun, the film will have a good pull during the opening weekend. We can't credit those to the movie and it's content. That will be too soon to judge as generally, talk takes time to spread and bring the audience to the theatres based on the power of the content.

Directors like Trivikram with family entertainers, V.V.Vinayak, Boyapati Seenu with mass entertainers, Koratala Siva with emotional subjects, Puri Jagannath with typical characters and S.S. Rajamouli with huge set pieces and costume dramas, created niche for themselves. Today, any audience member can expect certain elements from their movies and actors too gladly credit them for the success of their films as they show off their individuality.
