Is This Why Nag Rejected YSR biopic?

Making biopics is the latest trend in Tollywood. Filmmakers are searching for powerful personalities in the history books to make a biopic on them. 'Anando Brahma' fame Mahi V Raghav is planning to make a biopic on the legendary Telugu politician, former CM Late. YS Rajasekhar Reddy life.

It is known that the Malayalam Superstar Mammootty has agreed to play YSR role in the biopic titled 'Yatra'. Mammootty is not just a superstar but he is a national award-winning actor as well. But still one would wonder why the makers have chosen a Malayalam star to play Telugu legend's role? Actually, Mahi approached Akkineni Nagarjuna for YSR role initially. Though Nagarjuna was impressed with the script, he was not keen on doing the film before 2019 general elections. That's the reason why, filmmakers have approached Mammootty.

Nagarjuna used to share a cordial relationship with late.YSR and everybody knows it. If Nagarjuna really liked the script, why he didn't want to do the film before elections? There is a talk in the Film Nagar that Nagarjuna didn't want to land in an unnecessary controversy by acting in a political backdrop film just before the elections.
