'Mahanati' is the upcoming biopic of legendary actress Savitri. Ever since Savitri biopic was announced discussions started on the other important characters in the film. The roles of NTR.. ANR in the film assumed significance, there were even speculations that the makers convinced Jr.NTR to play the role of his legendary grandfather Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao.
Contrary to the rumours, NTR reportedly refused to play his grandfather role. It is known that Young Tiger has close relations with Ashwini Dutt. The ace producer made films like 'Kantri'.. 'Shakti' starring Jr.NTR. Irrespective of the success failure of these films they share good bonding with each other. But still Tarak refused to play his grandfather role.. and reportedly told them that he neither has the stature nor maturity to play his grandfather role.
As NTR role is a cameo.. Ashwini Dutt is still confident that he can convince him by the time the shoot completes. What if Junior continues the same stance?... So, the makers are also exploring at the alternate options. Whatever be the case, the wishes of Nandamuri fans to see Jr. NTR in his grandfather role appear to be distant dream.
