Siva Karthikeyan began his career as a TV Presenter. The Bonding he shares with Tamil star Dhanush changed his life forever. After playing few cameo/less significant roles, He promoted himself as hero with 'Mann Karate'. With 'Remo' he achieved Stardom in Kollywood. Collections of this romantic entertainer were only next to the films of Rajini and Vijay in 2016. The Telugu version grabbed maximum attention after Dil Raju bagged the rights. Are Telugus ready to accept this Tamil Hero?

Synopsis:

SK (Siva Karthikeyan), an aspiring Actor, is determined to achieve his goal despite many setbacks. One fine day, He gets to meet Kavya (Keerthy Suresh) and falls in love with her instantly. He, however, comes to know that she is already engaged and gets depressed. While returning home in a Nurse get-up after auditioning for a role, Kavya meets him accidentally and that's when he sees a ray of hope to win her heart. What has SK done to make her his Life Partner forms rest of the tale!

Performances:

Siva Karthikeyan have a boy-next-door image and that's why audience could relate to him. Showing good ease and energy levels, He impressed both as SK and Remo. But, The heroism elevation scenes were hard to digest as he isn't a star in Telugu. Even his body language for the Remo character could have been better.

Keerthy Suresh is the special attraction in the movie. Youth will fall in love with the way she emotes with her Eyes and Cute Expressions. Pairing of Siva Karthikeyan and Keerthy Suresh is just perfect.

Saranya is too good in the role of Hero's Mother. Satheesh, Rajendra and Yogi Babu were alright. Director KS Ravi Kumar appears in his real life role.

Pros:

Keerthy Suresh

Music

Cinematography

Production Values

Cons:

Screenplay

Technicalities:

Technicians stood as a backbone for 'Remo'. PC Sriram showed his class once again. Even some of the ordinary scenes looked so pleasant and colorful. If not for him, The look and feel of this movie could have been at high standards. Anirudh's Songs and BGM were an asset. Production Values are rich. Dubbing which is of good quality deserves a special mention. Among the Technicians, Its Director Bhagyaraj Kannan who scores the least by making a formulaic film to play the safe game. Of course, Few Romantic Scenes and Comedy Sequences were nicely shot though they were routine. He also succeeded in getting the best output from his Technicians. The kind of clarity and confidence he have could be seen on the screen.

Analysis:

Once in a while, We get to see Good Casting, Technical Finesse & Grand Production Values save a movie with weak content. 'Remo' is one such film. Inspite of weak story & screenplay, It managed to obtain a decent report because of these factors.

'Remo' reminds use of Rajendra Prasad's 'Madam' and Kamal Haasan's 'Bhamane Satyabhamane'. Each and every sequence give us a feeling of watching it long back. Anirudh's Background Score and PC Sreeram's Camera Work guarantees a pleasant experience. Lead Pair and Melody Songs will make this film watchable.

Director Bhagyaraj Kannan followed a fixed template. So, There is nothing that audience can't predict in advance. What worked in favor of the movie is the entertaining narration. Combination scenes of Lead Pair, Hero & His Mom/Friends were nicely shot.

Predictability & Illogical Scenes are the biggest drawbacks of 'Remo'. The scene where the disguise of Hero gets exposed is one of the best scenes in the movie. Audience would be left disappointed if they walk into the theatres expecting something afresh. This dubbed version is only a time-pass fare.

Bottom Line: Just Watchable!
