Revanth Reddy edges out Uttam protege Kaushik Reddy
By: Tupaki Desk | 12 July 2021 1:18 PM GMTIn a swift move that shows that he means business, new TPCC chief Revanth Reddy has edged out Uttam Kumar Reddy protégé Kaushik Reddy from the Congress Party. Revanth Reddy got a show cause notice issued to Kaushik Reddy within hours of the latter's phone conversation where he claimed that the TRS has offered him a ticket in Huzurabad bypolls against Eatala Rajender has gone viral.
He not only got a show cause notice issued, but gave just 24 hours for Kaushik Reddy to give his explanation. Uttam Kumar's relative Kaushik Reddy had met KTR in private and has dropped enough hints that the TRS would make him its candidate from Huzurabad. At the same time, he was asking the Congress to declare him as the candidate for Huzurabad. There were fears that he would simply defect to the TRS after taking the Congress ticket, leaving the party high and dry.
On Monday afternoon, the audio clips of Kaushik Reddy's conversation with a party worker went viral. Grabbing the opportunity with both hands, Revanth Reddy check-mated him. By this action, he has put Kaushik Reddy's political career in confusion. In the wake of the revelations, the TRS may now think twice before making him the party candidate. Thus, Reddy would be neither here nor there. The TRS may not also find such a discredited leader of no use for it even in the campaigning. Thus, it would be double whammy for him.
A cornered Kaushik Reddy has announced his resignation from the Congress Party by evening. The TRS too has said that there was no talk of making Kaushik Reddy its candidate. Party leader Vakulabharanam Krishna Mohan has said that the party was yet to decide on the candidate for Huzurabad and added that Kaushik Reddy's claims were false. He also said that it has nothing to do with the phone conversations of Kaushik Reddy.
