Director Sudha Kongara, who reamade 'Irudhu Suttru' in Telugu as 'Guru' has choosen Venkatesh as hero.. but she has not searched for another heroine in Telugu. She has roped in Ritika Singh who acted in the original. Why didn't she choose any other familiar heroine ? Because she doesn't have any other option other than Ritika. No other can do justice to that role except Ritika. Anyone who watches the movie will agree to this statement.
If a girl from a slum area learns boxing.. and becomes an international champion.. how does she look like.. Ritika appears exactly same in this film. Just like her role in Tamil original, she has delivered a powerful performance in Telugu also. How could she do it ? Because she herself is a boxing player. Ritika is from Mumbai and she was trained in Martial arts also. She has learnt kick-boxing. She has participated in 2009 Asia Indoor Games. She has even participated in Super Fight League organized by Shilpa Shetty husband Raj Kundra.
When Sudha Kongara planned to make a film in the backdrop of women boxing.. she has searched for the right girl. In the proces, she came to know about Ritika through Raj Kundra.. and finally selected her. That's how Ritika entered films. Even though she doesn't have experience in acting.. she was trained by Sudha for a long time. She has impressed the Tamil audience with her performance in 'Irudhu Suttru'. With the same role she has impressed Telugu audience this time.
