RK Selvamani Not Happy With Donations to FEFSI
By: Tupaki Desk | 4 April 2020 7:19 AM GMTWith the overspread of the Corona Virus, the government has lockdown the country. This decision is showing adverse effects on the poor and middle-class people. The workers in the film industry is also struggling with the ongoing crisis.
So, the South Indian Film Workers Union(FEFSI)'s president had asked the film stars to donate to the daily wage workers in the industry. The union has 25,000 members, in which 18,000 members are daily wage workers. So, FEFSI President RK Selvamani requested the stars to come forward with contributions.
Sadly only a few stars have responded to Selvamani's request. Actors Shiva Kumar, Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Shiva Karthikeyan have donated to the FEFSI. Among them, Rajinikanth's donation of 50 lakhs is the highest.
The rest of the stars have remained silent on these donations. This disappointed Selvamani a lot. As of now, only Rs 1.60 crores is collected for FEFSI. This won't be enough to feed the thousands of workers, said Selvamani. Selvamani said the remaining state actors are donating crores of rupees voluntarily, but our stars are not even thinking of these donations. So, he requested all the actors to come forward to feed the needy people in the industry.
