2.0 songs in Telugu, lack ..
By: Tupaki Desk | 29 Oct 2017 4:22 AM GMT2.0 songs composed by A.R. Rahman have been going viral ever since they are released on 27th of October. The jukebox views and also plays on Saavan and other music apps are set to break records. It is highly anticipated as the movie has huge buzz surrounding it and also Shankar - Rahman combination is yet to deliver a musical flop. Add Rajnikanth into the mix and this will be the most popular album ever.
Even with only two songs, the excitement has reached to the top level to hear them in many listeners. The songs are going viral as we said earlier but there is a catch in Telugu songs here. The lyrics in Telugu has been too non-sensical. We can't understand what the lyricist tried to convey even if we hear for 10 times. The tune and the instrumentation are world class but some how mixing seems to have hurt the words too.
They are pauses in words when not required and also, the overall meaning is lost in some lines too. Anantha Sriram wrote the song, Yantara lokapu Sundarive. Normally, he concentrates on meaning but this time he seems to have just translated the words from Tamil to Telugu. Also, the second song, Randali written by Bhaskara Bhatla too seem to lost many words in translation. We have to wait and see how Shankar mesmerises audience on screen but yet another underwhelming effort from a dubbing team to convert songs from another language to Telugu, in recent times.
