RRR One Step Ahead Of Making History At Oscars!
By: Tupaki Desk | 22 Dec 2022 6:14 AM GMTDespite not making it to India's official entry list to the prestigious Oscars, magnum opus RRR is not taking a back step. Team RRR gave an intensive campaign for the awards. Director Rajamouli needs a special mention here for the campaign he did for the Pan-India film.
RRR fans have one thing to cheer about as the film is shortlisted for the original song category. The Naatu Naatu song which became hugely popular was shortlisted for the Best original song category. The song has many chances to get finalised and win the prestigious award.
It's been a long time since Indian cinema bagged the Oscars award. All eyes are now on the awards to see what the jury about the film now. Fans pinned high hopes that the song might create history and win the prestigious award. This will be a big feather for RRR and music director Keeravani.
RRR is a visual wonder given the breathtaking scenes the film has. But the film could not get a nomination in this category. Many felt that the film might get nominated. The western audiences and technicians there were blown away looking at the scenes. Sadly that could not help the film get a nomination.
RRR has only one nomination and if it has to make any history then it has only the Best original song category. People here and fans are keeping their fingers crossed hoping that we might see the film winning the award.
RRR will have to face tough competition from the likes of Carolina, Hold my Hand, and Lift me up. As voting is a key factor, it depends on the people whom they will vote for. Around 15 songs were nominated and the voting will start next month.
On the other hand, the Gujarati film Chhello Show is the official entry to the Oscars from India. Both RRR and Chhello Show have the chance of making India proud on the big stage. Compared to Chhello Show, SS Rajamouli's directorial RRR is carrying high expectations given the sensation it has created in the west after getting streamed on the OTT platform Netflix.
