Buzz: RRR's Sankranth release announcement on the way

Now that the government of Maharashtra has permitted the operation of cinema halls across the state, several Hindi biggies have locked the release dates. As we had reported earlier, the onus is now on Rajamouli's magnum opus creation RRR to lock its release date before it is too late. Now, the latest buzz suggests that RRR will be hitting the silver screens next Sankranthi season and an official announcement on the same will be made shortly.
Initially, it was heard that RRR might be releasing in theatres next April, given the uncertainty related to the pan-India theatrical market. It was heard that Rajamouli is willing to play the waiting game as he patiently assesses the situation and locks the optimal release date for the film. But the latest we hear is that Rajamouli has locked Sankranthi release for RRR. An official announcement on the same will be out very soon.
It is heard that the makers of RRR have tentatively locked 3 release dates - 7th, 8th, and 9th January for the film. One of these dates will be finalized and an official announcement on the release date will be made correspondingly. Now that several Bollywood films are locking the release dates, Rajamouli felt it would be better if he finalizes a release date sooner than later in order to avoid a head on clash with other Bollywood biggies which could dent the box office prospects of RRR.
In all likelihood, RRR's release date announcement will be out very soon and a related update will be provided by the makers of the Jr NTR and Ram Charan starrer shortly.
