SS Rajamouli proved to be one of the best masala commercial film director with his Simhadri. Student No. 1, even though became a super hit, got promoted as senior director and legend K. Raghavendra Rao's film, who was involved as creative director for the project. Hence, Simhadri is the first major film of Rajamouli that gave him the big name.

He worked hard to keep the success intact with his next films. He concentrated on delivering hit films with that particular hero rather than his growth unlike Shankar. Shanmugh Shankar delivered blockbusters and also created an unique signature for himself with each of his film.

Rajamouli concentrated more on keeping the success streak alive after break-even hit Sye. His next two films Chatrapathi, Vikramarkudu have tailor made sequences for the respective heroes - Prabhas and Ravi Teja.

He changed that approach with Yamadonga. He tried to do something away from regular commercial films by taking Yamagola, Yamaleela and Yamudiki Mogudu inspirations. This paved a new way for him and his next film, Magadheera with Ram Charan became an Industry hit, giving Rajamouli confidence to go for full length VFX based films.

He became successful with Eega and Maryada Ramanna. One film has house fly as hero and another one had very less VFX compared to his previous films. Both became hits showing his prowess in handling emotions.

Post that he went for his biggest ever leap of faith and experiment, Baahubali films with Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamanna, Ramyakrishnan, Naseer, Satyaraj. Prabhas and Ramyakrishnan turned out to be the most benefitted actors of the cast.

Prabhas turned into a Pan India star, especially Baahubali 2 became the highest grosser at Indian box office until, China box office made Dangal, the highest grosser. This made his fans give out statements that are arrogant and disrespectful to other actors and even Rajamouli too.

Rajamouli with RRR proved that his considerably weak film can also excite audiences enough to collect Rs. 1000 crores Gross worldwide and give lead actors Pan India exposure, in this case Ram Charan, Jr NTR.

Prabhas on the other hand delivered two back to back bad films - Saaho and Radhe Shyam. At least Saaho became a hit in North Indian markets but Radhe Shyam turned out to be India's biggest disaster ever in terms of losses.

So, observers say that the real Baahubali of Indian Cinema, currently is Rajamouli. Well, RRR proves it, doesn't it?
