Rocking star Yash and director Prasanth Neel's action drama 'KGF Chapter 2' has struck the bull's eye on the opening day. The film ended up being the highest collector in the Hindi market beating big Bollywood films on the first day.

The Hindi dubbed version alone minted over 58 crores on Day1. Yash's film earned 165.1 crores on its opening day worldwide which made it stand in the third position in the list of highest-grossing Indian films on the first day according to IMDb.

As expected, it is Rajamouli's films that occupied the first two positions. His recent outing 'RRR' ended up grossing 222.5 crores on its opening day while 'Baahubali: The Conclusion' minted 213 crores on the first day back in 2017. These stand in the first and second positions respectively while leaving 'KGF – 2' in the third spot.

The fourth place is occupied by Prabhas' failed action flick 'Saaho' which was released under massive expectations. It got 124.6 crores on its opening day. The fifth and sixth places belong to superstar Rajnikanth. He earned 105.5 crores worldwide with Shankar's '2.0' and grossed 90 crores with 'Kabali' which came out in 2016.

It is Thalapathy Vijay's 'Beast' which took the seventh spot as his recent release 'Beast' grossed 87.1 crores worldwide on its first day. The collections dipped massively after the film got a negative response.

the eighth place belongs to Megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy' which got 85.3 crores on the first day of its release. Aamir Khan's disaster film 'Thugs of Hindustan' stood in the ninth place with a gross of 76.2 crores on its opening day. It is Rajamouli's film once again that made it to the list. 'Baahubali: The Beginning' which came out in 2015 earned a gross of 73 crores on its opening day.

Did you notice how nine out of ten films that grossed big on the opening day were South Indian films? Of them, five are movies made from Tollywood!
