Although most of the Producers weren't selling the Overseas rights for outright in the recent past, Rarely does the Makers receive share in Profits and that too a huge sum of Rs 4 crore is unbelievable. 'Baahubali' is the first Telugu flick to achieve this rare feat!
BlueSky acquired 'Baahubali - The Beginning' USA theatrical rights for Rs 9 crore. The epic action drama collected a Gross of $6,860,143 in USA. If Canada too was included, The figure goes up to $6,997,636. As a result, BlueSky have paid now Rs 4 crore more from overflows to Producers of 'Baahubali' as part of the agreement signed prior to the release.
Post 'Baahubali', 'Srimanthudu' and 'Bhale Bhale Magadivoi' have done remarkably well in USA. While 'Srimanthudu' run has almost come to an end with a gross of $2,863,784, 'Bhale Bhale Magadivoi' managed a gross of around $7,00,000 in its opening weekend. Looks like, The market for Telugu films have expanded to a great extent after the release of 'Baahubali'. Kudos to SS Rajamouli!
