Synopsis:
Sanjay alias Sanju (Sundeep Kishan), a software professional, have a girlfriend Amulya (Anisha Ambrose). He loses his job at the time arrangements were made for his elder sister's marriage. To meet the expenses, Sanjay borrows money from Vaddi Raja (Bobby Simha) on a interest basis. All the attempts made by him to repay the loan by bagging a good job fails. At the same time, Sanjay's Brother-in-Law pressurizes him to settle the Dowry and Amulya's Father turns into a villain for his love story. How does he fight all the odds forms the rest of the tale..!
Performances:
Sundeep Kishan does a good job in the boy-next-door role. His histrionics as a helpless youth were apt and he excelled in the sequence with Heroine's Father. Anisha Ambrose is just alright. She wasn't able to leave a huge impact either with glamour or performance.
Bobby Simha as Vaddi Raja is terrific. Mahat Raghavendra doesn't make the opportunity count. Both Posani & Brahmaji tickle the funny bone. Praveen does well in the role of Hero's Friend. Kasi Viswanath and Others were okay.

Sai Kartheek's Music is decent. While a romantic song shot on lead pair is good, Background Score is just okay. Camera Work by Rahasekhar can't match the bar set by the Original. Production Values are adequate. Dialogues penned by Prasanna Kumar were laudable. Director Ani Kanneganti yet again fails to leave his mark as a filmmaker.
Analysis:
Concept-based Films are quite rare in Telugu Film Industry but audience were always willing to watch such products if presented well. We have seen Bhale Bhale Magadivoy, Surya Vs Surya and Bhale Manchi Roju do well in the recent past. Even 'Run' falls in the same category.
Based on the concept of 'good time always follows bad time', Unique Screenplay is the USP of 'Neram' and it gives a feeling of watching a one of its kind film. However, Its Telugu remake 'Run' lacked intensity in the characters and seriousness required to built the tension.
In the First Half, Story progresses at a slow pace. The love story of lead pair wasn't promising either and lack of chemistry is evident. Role of Bobby Simha as Vaddi Raja creates curiosity right from the start. The way his Character ends and the final twist was pleasing to watch. Brahmaji as Padmavathi brings the much-needed comic relief. Momentum picks up only after the problems faced by Hero gets resolved one after the other. Lack of heroism elevating scenes, Not much screen space for Heroine in Second Half and Illogical Sequences play spoilsport.
Director Ani Kanneganti didn't tried to improvise or change the original, 'Neram'. He just played the role of copy cat and doesn't mind giving credit for screenplay to Alphanso Puthren in the title cards. Though the run time of 1 hr 45 min is an advantage, Lack feel-good factor and thrilling moments offered by 'Neram' is a worry for 'Run'. Still, Urban Audience might give it a try…!
Bottom Line: Needless to RUN for Tickets!
