Synopsis:
Viswa (Bellamkonda Srinivas) loses his Parents in his childhood. A Rich Couple who doesn't have children adopts Viswa and makes him the successor of their business empire in US. Viswa lands in India for his Soulmate Soundarya Lahari (Pooja Hegde) and ends up killing members in villain gang one after the other. Watch 'Saakshyam' to know why the protagonist is in a mood for vengeance!
Performances:
Bellamkonda Srinivas does a decent job. He looks much fitter now, excels in action episodes and dances. There isn't much scope for him in this movie to emerge as a powerhouse performer.
Pooja Hegde impresses only with her glamour dose. Jagapathi Babu is menacing as the antagonist. Rao Ramesh is alright. Ravi Kishan and Ashutosh Rana have nothing much to do. Pavithra Lokesh, Jayaprakash, Sarath Kumar and Meena has done justice to their roles . Lyricist Ananth Sriram appears as Valmiki. Vennela Kishore fails to tickle the funny bone.

Technicalities:
Music Director Harshavardhan Rameswar of 'Arjun Reddy' fame surprises with the output he delivered. Background Score of 'Saakshyam' is impressive, it's different from other commercial films. Though few compositions look odd in the First Half, The Composer exhibited his real calibre during the crucial scenes in Second Half. Songs were disappointing and even their placement hurts the flow of the movie. Camera Work by Arthur Wilson is marvelous. Dialogues by Sai Madhav Burra hit the right chord. Production Values are grand & the richness can been seen in every scene. Though the concept chosen by Sriwaas is fine, Narration has been a big let down. Inclusion of unnecessary scenes created lag & the Editing was poor to minimize the damage.
Analysis:
'Saakshyam' is a high-budget action drama based on the five elements of Nature. The Concept looks good on paper, but execution is where this film falters. Director Sriwaas narrated the subject in an old format and made it appear like a regular commercial film.
Makers took cinematic liberties without bothering much about the logic. They had gone over the top by attempting to show every frame richly. Lack of gripping screenplay is a major setback. Love Story of the Lead Pair is nothing special. Even the Comedy Track failed miserably. Crisp Editing could have made First Half watchable.
After the initial 15 minutes, 'Saakshyam' is back on the right track only in the Second Half. Action Episodes composed by Peter Heins stand out. Masses will be enjoying them thoroughly. Cinematography and Background Score are top notch. Fantasy element in the film excites the movie buffs to some extent.
On a whole, 'Saakshyam' have elements which could be liked by the Mass Audience but it isn't the film for all the sections. The film could have been on a different level had if Sriwaas did complete justice to the concept. Once again, Bellamkonda Srinivas managed to deliver only a decent film with high budget.
