A few months back Samantha and Pooja Hegde had some issues over social media. A photo criticizing Samantha was posted from Pooja's account which shocked everyone. Pooja claimed that her social media handle was hacked and apologized. But the damage is done already as their fans starting criticizing each other.

Even the actresses were a bit cold regarding this issue and fans of Samantha are saying that she got her revenge now. It is known that Gunasekhar has announced a film titled 'Shakuntalam' which is based on Mahabharata. It is about Shankuntala Devi and her love story with king Dushyantha. Sources say that Pooja Hegde was initially approached for his role but the dusky beauty had some second thoughts regarding this mythological film.

News is that Samantha bagged this role and she will be playing the lead in this Gunasekhar's directorial. The 'Okkadu' director's last film was 'Rudramadevi' featuring Anushka, Rana and Allu Arjun. He is attempting a mythology film again and if sources are to be believed we will be seen Samantha in a historic role for the first time.
