Star Director Next Is 'Rani Padmavathi'

Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali who is known for directing historical dramas is coming up with another venture. After the success of Bajirao Mastani the ace filmmaker is all set to come back with another film in the same genre that tells about Sultan Alauddin Khilji and his obsessive love for Queen Padmavati. The film story will be based on ruthless ruler Alauddin Khilji's obsession for Mewar queen Padmavati.
The critically acclaimed film maker already presented a staged version of this story in an opera in Paris in 2008. He announced the probable release in December 2017. As per the legend Sultan was smitten by Rani Padmavati's bewitching beauty and intelligence. This film will be about the queen's courage and intelligence.
On seeing the beauty of the queen, Alauddin was determined to get her into fold. Eventually, Queen Padmavati performed self-immolation which is a custom of queens and female royals of Rajput kingdoms when faced with defeat at the hands of an enemy.
