Mahanati's bright side and also dark side

One of the first generation actress who will live forever in the hearts of Telugu audience is none other than Savitri. She is one of the few actress who gained so much recognition and took thousands of rupees as remuneration in the black and white days. But, because of her kindness she failed financially despite earning in lakhs.

Director Nag Ashwin is directing the biopic of Savitri and titled as Mahanati Savitri. Top heroine Keerthy Suresh is playing the role of Savitri in the film. Dulquer Salman is playing Savitri's husband Gemini Ganeshan's role. Not only how the actress got into the limelight but also her darkest phase of life during the last days are also shown in the movie. "In her last days, how Savitri got addicted to drinking, how she spoiled her life, how she survived after losing everything and who are the friends that stood with her at that time are also shown in the movie" said a unit member.

Versatile actor Mohan Babu is playing the role of S.V.Ranga Rao in the movie. Arjun Reddy fame Shalini Pandey is playing the role of veteran actress Jamuna. Samantha, Prakash Raj, Rajendra Prasad, Vijay Devarakonda are also playing crucial roles in the movie. The movie is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies banner and will be released in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam languages.
