Senior comedian and actress Geethanjali is no more

Geethanjali was the name given to actress Mani, who had an identical twin sister. They both performed on stage classical dance forms and her sister got film chances while she tagged along.
Looking at her, some producers decided to give her opportunities too. But she wasn't serious about the acting career. When she got a chance from NTR, who is producing and directing for the first time, Seetharamula Kalyanam, she agreed to do the movie.
She always remembered that it was NTR who designed her first Thilak (Bottu) as Seetha after the make-up and he was her first guru and director as well.
As Seetha, she remembered that NTR used to scold her and made her learn discipline to fall in love with acting. Later, she went on to become a famous comedian and a hit pair with Padmanabham like Relangi - Gireeja and Rajababu - Ramaprabha.
She did not just confine herself to comedian roles but showed her acting prowess in other supporting roles as well. Pellaina Kothalo can be called her last recognised performance in a Telugu film.
She died late in the night on 30th October at Apollo hospital after complaining for chest pain. She suffered a severe cardiac arrest reported her family.
She married actor Ramakrishna and always fondly remembered the love he used to shower on her. Her grandson debuted in movies but he couldn't carry on to become a popular actor.
She won awards and rewards for her performances. She was and will always be known as one of the famous actresses of Telugu Cinema from golden era.
