Senior Director Claims That Theatre Business Is Down Completely!
By: Tupaki Desk | 15 July 2020 12:14 PM ISTThe entire film fraternity is waiting to hear some good news from a very long time. The theatres are closed and the shootings were canceled. Filmmakers are hoping to see light at the end of this dark tunnel as soon as possible.
Even the audience is getting used to OTT platforms are they are the only sources of entertainment these days. Getting closer to OTT's is clearly distancing ones self from the theatres and big screens. Famous director Shekhar Kapur who made some memorable Bollywood films claims that the theatres are on the verge of extension and it was waiting to happen from the last one year.
He took to twitter and wrote, 'Theatres are not going to open for at least a year. So all hype around the first weeks business of 100+ crores is dead. So the theatrical Star System is dead. Stars will have to go to existing OTT platforms or stream films themselves through their own apps. Technology is quite simple.'
Even RGV replied to his comments saying that it sounds pretty much like a doomsday prediction for an era. Many are saying that it is time for our stars to come down from the sky and put their feet on the ground as the OTT platforms are not giving sufficient money to the makers, Experts are saying that they need to start their own apps so that they can launch the films directly.
