'The Kashmir Files' film is getting bigger and bigger at the box office with each passing day. Though the film had a slow start initially, the film is now doing exceptionally well and crossed the 100 crore mark. No one would have thought that the film would have such a good run in the second week of its release.

This is only one side of the coin. The second side is that the film and the makers are getting bashed for the opposition leaders and a few activists. Accusing the makers of giving a false narrative to the original events, they have dubbed the film as propaganda and fake. The director is said to have received threats.

Following all this, the Union government is said to have provided Y-category security for director Vivek Agnihotri in the wake of the criticism and anti-views of the films.

With the new development, Vivek Agnihotri becomes the second person from Bollywood to get security cover. Earlier, controversial actress Kangana Ranaut was given security cover due to her fallout with the Maharashtra government. Her issue reached the court as well.

The government giving security cover for Kangana Ranaut became quite a sensation and the opposition parties lashed out at the centre for the same. However, the union government was strong on the issue and provided security.

The Central Reserve Police Force security cover provided for Vivek Agnihotri applies all over the country and the security will cover him round the clock.

It has to be mentioned here that the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) has been supporting 'The Kashmir Files' and tax exemptions were also given to the film in the BJP-ruled states.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah met the makers of the films and appreciated them for the film. While PM Modi alleged that a conspiracy is being hatched on the film, the makers lauded the efforts of Amit Shah in removing Article 370 in the Kashmir valley.

The Kashmir Files is based on the atrocities and the brutality the Hindus faced in Kashmir valley in the 1990s. The film shows how Hindus were forced to leave the valley and how women were subjected to brutal atrocities.
