Shah Rukh Has To Blame Himself!
By: Tupaki Desk | 8 Aug 2017 7:17 AM GMTThe titles like King Khan.. Bollywood Baadshah appears to be odd before the name of Shah Rukh Khan now. Trade pundits are utterly surprised with the collections of Shah Rukh's latest film 'Jab Harry Met Sejal'. They are shocked to see the downfall of Shah Rukh's market range like this.
Shah Rukh's flop movie 'Happy New Year' which was released a few years ago has collected around Rs. 45 crores worldwide on the opening day.. it's India collections were Rs. 35 crores. But the situation of 'Jab Harry Met Sejal' is so pathetic that the first weekend worldwide collections stood at Rs.50 crores. India collections are just Rs.45 crores.
When the market range of Indian films is increasing with the each year, the performance of Shah Rukh films is going in the opposite direction. Bollywood analysts are saying that Shah Rukh has to blame himself for the present situation. Shar Rukh was a big star a few years back. All other stars including Aamir Khan were nowhere near him. Aamir Khan used to appear as a small hero in comparison with Shah Rukh. But he started doing different films from 'Lagaan' and carefully built his career. He has increased his market range with each movie from then onwards.
He has scored blockbusters like 'Rang De Basanti'.. '3 Idiots'.. 'P.K'.. 'Dangal' with strong content and he reached to the top. On the other hand, Shah Rukh went on to do routine commercial films and lost audience faith on him. His career got affected because he focused on collections by doing routine films rather than focusing on the good content. Routine films like 'Happy New Year'.. 'Dilwale'.. 'Raees' have dented the image of Shah Rukh in the past few years.
With this kind of films, the audience came to a conclusion that Shah Rukh films will not have any content except routine hungama. This has severely damaged his market. The impact is evident on Shah Rukh's film 'Jab Harry Met Sejal'. Aamir reached to the top by doing very good films while Shah Rukh has dented his own image and market with routine films.
