Definitely if we have to pick about one happening commercial director from South India, the name of S Shankar used to ring high than Rajamouli. Now that the latter is conferred with Padma Sri Awards, there is a huge commotion going on in social circuits.
Tamil fans are busy arguing that if Rajamouli could be given a Padma Sri for Baahubali, why not for Shankar who is busy making only social-issues as his subjects from a long time. Tamil thambis are are hurt and asking why the Government of India has ignored Shankar from giving such honor for years.
Actually it is states who should recommend the names, so maybe they should ask Jayalalitha and Karunanidhi governments about this.
